Formed by a few philanthropic people for the welfare of Malayalee Community in and around Gurgaon. GMA has got registered under Registrar of Societies, Chandigarh in October 2010. Dr. Prasanna Kumar, former Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Haryana is the Chief Patron of GMA backed by a dedicated team of Advisory Committee and Managing Committee from different fields & areas of Gurgaon. GMA’s main objective is to bring all malayalees under one umbrella.
GMA is mainly focusing on charity. From the day of its inception, GMA has been able to do various activities for the needy and poor people like blood donation, medical aids and to name a few. Apart from this, GMA is also promoting Art & Culture. GMA’s “Malayala Bhasha Padana Classes” are going very well on every Sundays in three locations such as Maruti Vihar (Chakrapur), Rajeev Nagar and Pratap Nagar and have plans to start more classes to a couple of other areas also like DLF, South City, Sector 56 etc. Coming to the promotion of Arts, GMA is using the services of Smt Chithra Mohan, who is a renowned dance artist specialized in Kerala Nadanam. The dance classes are conducted on every Sunday at Vijay Park (Near Lord Jesus School). Coupled with this, Smt Dhanya Nair, who is a renowned artist from Kala Mandalam is conducting the classes at Maruti Vihar for GMA. Perhaps, GMA is the only Malayalee Association, who has introduced the Identity Cards to its members for the first time in Delhi & NCR.
GMA is planning various activities for the next 2 years especially focusing in the areas of Charity / Welfare, Education, Art & Culture. We are making all our efforts to achieve our main target “TO BRING ALL MALAYALEES UNDER ONE UMBRELLA” irrespective of caste/creed & money. To accomplish this mission, we need the support of each and every one of you and it is out of place to mention here that without your unstinted support, this mission will be incomplete.
So, let us take this challenge in the right perspective & spirit and join us in achieving this goal !!
